About the Standards Programme

The Water UK Standards Programme works towards water industry objectives for input to international, European and British standards. It co-ordinates work across the industry to ensure good practice and to share information, in particular among procurement teams, asset managers and designers.

The Programme is managed by a Standards Board which recruits representatives from water companies and expertise from across the industry.

The Board sets long term-objectives for work, based on the Water UK business plan. Work is organised under 10 topic areas for water supply, wastewater and customer service. All activity is based on these topics. This ensures active management of input to BSI, CEN and ISO standards.

Each topic area is supported by a topic adviser and a policy adviser, who provide the representatives with guidance and information in preparation for meetings.
